This July, Quinte Working Equitation and Jamesview Dressage in Shannonville are opening their doors for a two-day introduction to one of the most exciting and fastest-growing equestrian disciplines in Canada! Whether you've been curious about Working Equitation for a while or you're brand new to the name, this clinic is your in: a welcoming, hands-on weekend designed to give you and your horse a real taste of what the sport is all about.
Our clinician is Pam Esteves, a professional rider, trainer, and coach with more than 25 years of experience, a Masters Level Working Equitation rider, and a Canadian team declared rider for the 2026 World Championships in Spain. Pam is also a founding member and current President of Working Equitation Central Ontario (WECO), and she brings everything she knows into her teaching. Her energy is contagious, her knowledge is deep, and everyone who rides with her leaves feeling like they can do more than they thought.
Working Equitation grew out of the cattle-working traditions of the Iberian Peninsula, where horses needed to be agile, responsive, brave, and completely in tune with their riders. Today it combines dressage-based flatwork with a fun and challenging obstacle course (the Ease of Handling phase) where horse and rider navigate things like gates, bridges, and barrels with precision and flow. It's practical, engaging, and it makes both horse and rider better. Once you try it, it's hard not to love it!
This clinic is open to all riding backgrounds — dressage, western, trail, ranch, or recreational! Spots are limited, so every participant gets real attention and real progress.
