About us
A small club in the Bay of Quinte region.
Working Equitation Quinte is a volunteer-run group serving Prince Edward County, Quinte West, Belleville, and Hastings County, drawn together by the sport of working equitation and the community around the discipline.
What we do
- Run schooling shows throughout the regular season.
- Host clinics with top clinicians and judges, from intro to advanced.
- Connect new riders with mentors and educational opportunities in the region.
- Keep working equitation visible and growing in eastern Ontario.
Who can join
Everyone is welcome across all skill levels from never-heard-of-it curious to seasoned competitor. We welcome every breed from Iberians and warmbloods to stock horses, ponies, and backyard friends, and every riding tradition โ whether you're dressage, western, eventing, jumpers, trail, or pleasure.
Auditing is welcome at clinics, and our schooling shows are designed to be friendly first outings for green combinations or experienced pairs alike.
How we run things
A few principles that guide the club, in no particular order.
Welcoming by default.
Many of our members were brand-new to working equitation a year or two ago. Introductory levels run at every show; auditing is always encouraged.
Horses first.
Every clinic and show is designed around the horse's well-being. No pressure to push past where you or your horse are ready, and a focus on fun and good horsemanship.
Volunteer-powered.
Everything from setting courses to writing tests gets done by volunteers showing up and pitching in. The club only runs because passionate riders make it!
